GEOCHEMICAL ATLASES
Radioecological Atlases

Radioecological geochemical atlases are prepared for documentation of the presence of radioactive elements in the natural environment. Distribution of natural radionuclides, uranium, thorium, potassium, caesium (related to Chernobyl catastrophe) and total gamma radiation are presented in the maps. Measurements were made along meridionally oriented profiles or in the point grid, 1 point per square kilometre.

Radioecological atlases contain the textual part, including tables, description of measurement methodology, geological background, information concerning data bases and construction of geochemical maps and general results.

Atlases constitute set of coloured tables or maps, together with explanatory notes in polish language and summary in English language.

The following Radioecological Atlases were edited:

  1. Radioecological Maps of Poland, part I
  2. Radioecological Maps of Poland, part II
  3. Radioecological Atlas of Warsaw and Environs
