The International Geological Congress took place this time in the Korean city of Busan, at the monumental BEXCO congress centre. Preparations for the 37th edition of the most important event in the world of geology had been underway since 2020 and included the difficult pandemic time.
On 18 June 2024, a working meeting of the consortium of European geological surveys implementing the PanAfGeo 2 project took place in Brussels.
More detailed cooperation between the geological surveys of both countries was the main objective of the visit to the Dominican Republic by Prof. Dr. Stanisław Mikulski, PGI-NRI (Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute) Deputy Director for Science and Scientific Support of the Polish Geological Service.
In June 2024, the fifth working meeting of the SEMACRET project ('Sustainable exploration for orthomagmatic (critical) raw materials in the EU: Charting the road to the green energy transition”.
