mid-conference field trip to Bóbrka Oil Mining Museum near Krosno – the cr
adle of the world oil mining. During the visit we will see the outdoor exhi
bition, including the exploitation of an oil field active since 60s of the
19th century, lecture prepare by Director of the Museum about history of oi
l exploitation in SE Poland (Carpathians), a film about Ignacy Łukasiewicz
(in English); visit will be followed by dinner at the Museum
- August 3, 2023 (Thursday) Lecture session on history
of mining. This session will take place in underground Wieliczka Salt Mine
(circa 15 km from Krakow). Wieliczka Salt Mine (https://en.wikipedia.org/w
iki/Wieliczka_Salt_Mine) that is on the UNESCO Word Heritage List has been
continuously operating since the 13th Century. Lunch and guided mine tour i
