On 6-7 of May 2024, a meeting took place at the headquarters of the Institute of Geology and Mining in Madrid (Instituto Geológico y Minero de España), in its role as the Spanish Geological Survey, between representatives of a team dedicated to the exploration of the ocean floor and the identification and recognition of polymetallic minerals, including primarily hydrothermal systems and associated massive sulphides, as well as cobalt-bearing intrusions occurring on seamounts and polymetallic concretions from abyssal plains.
The Geospatial World Forum 2024, entitled Geospatial transition: powering the world economy, was held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on May 13-16, 2024. The Polish Geological Institute-NRI was represented by two participants from the Department of Compositional and Economic Geology: dr Katarzyna Derkowska and mgr inż. Anna Januszewska.
On May 22, 2024, a meeting took place at the headquarters of the Polish Geological Institute-NRI in Warsaw between delegations of the State Geological Survey (PSG) and the Chinese Geological Survey (CGS), during which the agreement on mutual cooperation was renewed.
A new pack of sheets of the Hydrogeological Map of Poland at a scale of 1:50,000 - First Aquifer - Occurrence and Hydrodynamics, has just been made available on the Internet as JPG files. 20 sheets have been added and now a total of 967 sheets of this map, along with explanatory texts, are available on the Internet.
