Over a billion of ore tonnes was extracted and 18 million tonnes of copper were produced in the past 50 years. The existing resources will allow for continued operations in the next 50 years (according to KGHM Polska Miedź SA data).
In 2015, 32 million tonnes of ore containing 1.52% Cu, 479,000 tonnes of copper and 1,407 tonnes of silver were produced. Comparing to 2014, the volume of extracted ore was slightly higher (by 1.8%), while silver and copper was up by 1.7% and 1.3%, respectively.
