New geological core and sample repository to be built in Leszcze near Kłodawa
A new modern warehouse, which will hold geological core and samples from the whole Poland, will soon be built in Leszcze in the Kłodawa Commune, Wielkopolska Province. The new development of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) will cost almost 28 million złoty covered from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
Unveiling of the monument in Halifax commemorating the Polish emigration in to Canada
A monument commemorating almost 300 years of Polish emigration to Canada was unveiled in Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada) on the 16th of September 2018, the year when Poland celebrates a century of independence. This monument is located on the square near the magnificent building of the Museum of Immigration near Pier 21, a very honorary place.
Experts from the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute at the Climate Change Conference in Bangkok
Between the 4th and 9th of September 2018, the Climate Change Conference in Bangkok was held as part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Its main purpose was to accelerate work on the Paris Agreement Work Programme (PAWP).
Representatives of Polish Geological Institute-National Research Institute in China
Between the 18th and 25th of June 2018, Professor Przemysław Borkowski, Dr. Wojciech Jegliński and Dr. Artur Skowronek from the Polish Geological Institute–National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) visited China at the invitation of the China Geological Survey (CGS). Dr. Michał Tomczak, a marine geology expert with broad experience in Polish - Chinese cooperation, joined the delegation.
