OBJECTIVES

Its primary objective was to promote and increase the use of low-temperature geothermal energy in the Saxon-Polish border region around Zgorzelec and Görlitz.

RESULTS

The results of the study are:

• maps showing the average thermal conductivity of rocks, λ [W/m·K], at depths of 40, 70, 100 and 130 m below ground level;
• maps showing the unit heat output qv [W/m] for 1,800 hours of heat pump operation per year at depths of 40, 70, 100 and 130 m below ground level;
• maps showing the unit heat output qv [W/m] for 2,400 hours of heat pump operation per year at depths of 40, 70, 100 and 130 m below ground level.
