Databases
The CBDG Documents application is a tool for searching for information on archived geological documentation held in the Central Geological Database (CBDG). It contains catalogue data on archived geological studies from the Central Geological Archive (CAG) and other archives. It is the largest collection of this type of data and contains information on over 870,000 studies from various fields of geology, including engineering geology.
The current version of the CBDG Documents application features advanced search functions, enabling precise and efficient searching of the database.
The CBDG Boreholes application is a tool for searching for and displaying information on boreholes contained in the PGI-NRI database. Borehole data can be searched using attribute-based, spatial or combined queries. Search results are presented in tabular form or on a map, from where users can access detailed information such as:
-
- basic data (location, well history, associated documentation, scans of borehole cards, etc.),
- stratigraphic and lithological profiles,
- borehole geophysics,
- drill cores,
- samples.
The application is designed to enable the efficient searching and browsing of CBDG resources available online. It brings together information from all fields of geology, including engineering geology. The application is primarily based on the map services provided by the CBDG spatial data server. In the application’s map window, you can view the contents of a given dataset in real time and assess the performance of the mapping service that makes it available. Depending on the nature of the data, it may be made available via the following services: WMS, WFS or REST. Furthermore, within the CBDG GIS application, you can request spatial data for download in the form of a compressed SHP file.
The CBDG Download Manager application provides free access to spatial data for download in the form of SHP (Shapefile) files from the CBDG database. The application provides data from various fields of geology:
-
- Engineering geology,
- Geophysics,
- Hydrogeology,
- Boreholes,
- Mineral resources,
- Environmental data,
- Geology of the Baltic Sea seabed.
CBDG stratigraphic dictionaries
Stratigraphic dictionaries are of particular importance to the CBDG.The CBDG Stratigraphy application is used to browse them. It enables users to search for, view, print and export selected information on various types of stratigraphic units from the CBDG’s stratigraphic dictionaries. The following are currently available to the public:
-
- Dictionary of chronostratigraphic units,
- Dictionary of climatostratigraphic units,
- Dictionary of lithostratigraphic units.
EXTERNAL SERVICES
The data portal is a source of reliable, regularly updated data, made available free of charge for re-use. In one place, you will find data from over 160 providers, including public authorities and private organisations. The portal is managed by the minister responsible for digitalisation.
