flaga mongoliiOn 10 April 2025, in Ulaanbaatar, dr Rafał Sikora (Department of Regional and Deposit Geology) presented dr Turbold Sukhbaatar, Institute of Paleontology and Geology of Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS), an invitation from Prof. Krzysztof Szamałek, Director of PGI-NRI, to establish mutual scientific cooperation between both institutes.

Arctowski and Carlini polar stations - testing and integration of research methods. Phase I’. The aim is to fill in the gaps in the geological recognition of the northern part of the South Shetland Islands, i.e. Nelson Island, King George Island, Elephant Island and several minor islands in the area.

This was the 93rd edition of this major mining event, bringing together thousands of geologists and miners involved in the exploration and extraction of mineral resources worldwide. The employees of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PIG–PIB) were also present.
