V4 Visegrad Group countries meeting on geoparks
In May 2023, the Visegrad Group (V4) countries signed a cooperation agreement on geoparks. On 13-14 of May 2024, the second meeting of representatives of the signatories to this agreement took place in Przybram, Czech Republic (Barrandien Geopark). The event was attended by representatives of ministries, geological services and geoparks from the V4 Group countries, including staff from the Polish Geological Institute-NRI.
Report on the CETEG conference - 20th Jubilee Meeting of the Central European Tectonic Studies Groups
Once again, employees of the Polish Geological Institute-NRI took part in the preparation of the annual international conference of the Central European Tectonic Studies Groups (CETEG). This time it was the 20th anniversary edition of this conference, which took place on April 24-27, 2024 in Srebrna Góra in the Sudetes.
PGI-NRI experts at the TOGETAIR Conference
The TOGETAIR 2024 Climate Summit, which was organised by the Clean Air Foundation for the fifth time, has come to an end. The conference is held every year around International Earth Day.
PGI-NRI at the General Assembly of the European Union of Earth Sciences (EGU) in Vienna
The General Assembly 2024 of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) is the largest and most important European event in geology and related fields. The annual conference, which took place in Vienna from 15-19 of April 2024 in a hybrid format, attracted almost 21,000 scientists from 116 countries, including several PGI-NRI staff members. In total, almost 19,000 papers were submitted, resulting in 1,044 sessions.
