PGI-NRI has become a member of Geo-Hydrogen, the Polish Natural Hydrogen Initiative
On Friday, 18 October 2024, four institutions – the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute, the AGH University of Science and Technology, the Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and ORLEN S.A. concluded an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation, establishing the Polish Natural Hydrogen Initiative.

On 3 October 2024, staff from the Lower Silesian Branch of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute visited the headquarters of the Tescan Group company in Brno.
100 years of Paratethys. PGI-NRI at conference in Serbia
From 30 September to 1 October 2024, a scientific conference was held in Belgrade (Serbia) entitled. ‘100 Years of the Paratethys – Conceptual History and Modern Challenges’, organised by the Serbian Geological Society (Srpsko geološko društvo – SGD) under the auspices of the Regional Committee on Mediterranean Neogene Stratigraphy (RCMNS) and the International Commission on the History of Geological Sciences (INHIGEO).
Meeting of the EGDI working group of the Geological Service for Europe (GSEU) project
The second meeting this year of the European Geological Data Infrastructure (EGDI) working group of the Geological Service for Europe (GSEU) project took place in Rome on 24-25 September 2024. This is the group responsible for sharing and disseminating the results of the work of the GSEU project's other substantive working groups.
