On June 7-8, 2022, the first meeting of the project called „Sustainable exploration for orthomagmatic (critical) raw materials in the EU: Charting the road to the green energy transition” (SEMACRET) took place in Oulu, Finland.
On behalf of Poland, the Polish Geological Institute - National Research Institute became a member of the consortium, represented at the meeting in Oulu by: Olga Rosowiecka, PhD Eng., Kinga Bobek, MSc. Eng., Prof. Stanisław Mikulski and Rafał Małek, MSc. The consortium was established under the European grant - Horizon Europe – the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2021-2027). Olga Rosowiecka and Stanisław Mikulski, in their presentations, introduced the participants to the geological structure, deposit development and the availability of archival data from the Krzemianka and Udryń deposits in Suwałki, as well as the Silesian ophiolite massif of Ślęża.
