We are pleased to announce that the photo entitled ‘Pumpjack in reflection’, taken by Mariusz Fiałkiewicz, MSc, from the Centre for Modelling Geological Processes at the Lower Silesian Branch of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) in Wrocław, has been recognised in the ‘Geology in Lens 2024’ (PL – Geologia w obiektywie 2024) competition, organised by the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

The photo was taken on 27 December 2023 at the Jaszczew I oil and gas field in Jedlicze, Podkarpackie Voivodship.

Mariusz Fiałkiewicz has been taking photos for several years. He is primarily interested in astrophotography, both landscape and deep sky objects.
