The latest issue of the Geological Quarterly (Volume 70, No. 1/2026) contains 11 articles dedicated to various topics in the Earth sciences and related fields. Staff members of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) are the authors or co-authors of four of these publications.

Geological Quarterly is one of Poland’s most important geological journals and an international forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience concerning key geological issues in Poland, Europe and worldwide. The English-language quarterly of the PGI-NRI has been published continuously since 1957. It presents the results of research conducted at the Institute, as well as the work of scientists engaged in related research topics.

Since 2003, the journal has been indexed in, amongst others, the Science Citation Index Expanded and Web of Science. It is also included in databases such as Research Alert, Current Contents/Physical, Chemical & Earth Sciences, GeoAbstracts, Geobase or BIOSIS UK/Zoological Records. The journal’s Impact Factor has remained above 1 for several years.

The editor-in-chief of the journal is Prof. Tadeusz Peryt.
