Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute offers services in assessing hazard due to geodynamic phenomena, such as landslides, rock slides, land subsidence and karst processes.

WE OFFER

  • Documentation of geodynamic phenomena, including liquefaction-induced deformations, floods etc., accompanied by the assessment of hazard to the natural environment and infrastructure
  • Preparation of engineering geological reports in landslide areas for local physical planning and investment purposes to stabilize escarpments and slopes, as well as Registration Cards of mass movement hazard areas and Registration Cards of landslides in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of the Environment of 20 June 2007 concerning information on land mass movements (Journal of Laws 07.121.840 of 6 July 2007)
  • Documentation of soil and rock studies for technical concepts to ensure the stability of escarpments and slopes
  • Assessment and documentation of anthropogenic processes, including mining-related and waste disposal damage
  • Hazard assessment of the following phenomena:
  • Floods
  • Geodynamic processes, such as landslides, rock falls, soil flows and soil creeps
  • Deformations, including land subsidence, scouring and erosion
  • Karst processes
  • Modelling calculations and analyses:
  • Assessment of escarpment and slope stability
  • Assessment of the amount of ground subsidence
  • Guidelines for local administration authorities in case of landslide occurrence
  • Flood bank tests to prevent floods and to assess the impact of floods
  • Advice, consultation and education regarding measures to both prevent geohazard and run operations after damage

SOFTWARE

  • ArcGIS, Geomedia, AutoCad, AutoCad Map 3D, Microstation, Geoplan, Geostar, CPTUPro, Galena, Z_Soil, Statistica, ModFlow, Surfer
