Results of the OPTISGE PROJECT at EAGE GEOTECH 3rd Geoscience Technologies and Applications Conference 2024
The preliminary results of the Polish-Norwegian project entitled “Optimization of Shallow Geothermal Energy Resources for Green Transition (OptiSGE)” were presented by the employees of the Lower Silesian Branch of PGI-NRI during the EAGE GeoTech 3rd Geoscience Technologies and Applications Conference 2024 which took place between 8-10.04.2024 in The Hague.
Completion of the EGMS RASTOOL project: European ground motion risk assessment tool
After two years, the international grant "EGMS RASTOOL: European ground motion risk assessment tool” has ended. The project has resulted in data analysis tools from the Copernicus European Ground Motion Service, facilitating the identification of places where land surface deformations occur.
Director of PGI-NRI at the head of the Earth Resources Management Council
The Minister for Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, has established the Earth Resource Management Council (RGZZ). It was headed by prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Szamałek, Director of the Polish Geological Institute-NRI. The creation of the Council was announced by the Chief National Geologist prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Galos during a recent meeting with PGI-NRI staff.

"National and local energy security based on geothermal technologies - renewable energy sources" - This was the motto of the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Council of the National Development Council on April 9, 2024. The meeting was held at the Belvedere, and one of the participants in the session was prof. Krzysztof Szamałek, Director of the Polish Geological Institute-NRI.
