In the publication, Polish Geological Institute-National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) presented data on over 15 thousand mineral deposits documented in Poland as of 31.12.2025.

The latest edition of “The balance…” contains information on 15,194 domestic mineral deposits. Similarly to the previous editions, data on documented resources were grouped taking into account a raw material type and its intended use and presented in a form of tables accompanied by the short textual information. To respond to recipients expectations, in the case of deposits which are covered by the mining ownership (state ownership) the information on resources is presented by splitting them across particular resources categories (A+B, C1, C2, D).

Moreover, there was the detailed information on documented anticipated sub-economic resources given. The sources of information on the mineral resources, which are necessary for preparing “The balance…” , are the geological documentations. They are approved and then sent by the geological administration authorities – the Minister of the Environment, the Marshals of the Voivodships and the county governors – i.a. to the Central Geological Archive.

The information on the resources changes and the output volumes is given by the concession holders to the PGI-NRI according to the regulations of the Geological and Mining Law adopted on 9th June 2011 (Journal of Laws 2026, Item 69 unified text), in a form of statistical reports – defined in the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment adopted on 15th November 2011 on the inventory report and the information patterns of the mineral deposit resources changes (Journal of Laws 2021, Item 998 unified text).

On the updated website “Mineral resources of Poland”, except for “The balance…” (in the .pdf format) there are also presented additional information on particular mineral groups and updated on a regular basis vector data. Such data allows to visualize spatial information – regarding documented mineral deposits, mining areas and mining damage zones.
