Dominican Republic and Poland together on raw materials: developing geological cooperation as part of EU policy
On 6-10 May 2025, representatives of the Dominican Republic visited Poland as part of the development of geological cooperation. The visit included participation in a conference in Kraków, expert meetings and study visits to key research and mining centres.
New cross-border research project: ‘Study of the aquatic ecosystem in the Kłodzko Gorge’
At the beginning of 2025. Pardubice Region (Czech Republic) has started a joint research project with the State Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) called 'Study of the aquatic ecosystem in the Kłodzko Gorge'.
Cross-border cooperation with Slovakia on the protection of border waters against pollution
From 7 to 10 April 2025, the 33rd Meeting of the Polish-Slovak Working Group on Protection of Boundary Waters from Pollution (OPZ) was held in Púchov, Slovakia. The aim of the meeting was to discuss and harmonise monitoring results and to prepare the annual report on the status and quality of boundary waters in 2024.
Active role of PGI-NRI within the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU
On 5–8 May 2020, a series of conferences on raw materials was held in Kraków as part of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The events were organised by the European Commission and the Ministry of Climate and Environment (MKiŚ, or Ministerstwo Klimatu i Środowiska in Polish).
