PGI-NRI at the General Assembly of the European Union of Earth Sciences (EGU) in Vienna
The General Assembly 2024 of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) is the largest and most important European event in geology and related fields. The annual conference, which took place in Vienna from 15-19 of April 2024 in a hybrid format, attracted almost 21,000 scientists from 116 countries, including several PGI-NRI staff members. In total, almost 19,000 papers were submitted, resulting in 1,044 sessions.
Cooperation between PGI-NRI and the Ministry of Defence
The Polish Geological Institute - National Research Institute has established cooperation with the Ministry of Defence. The bilateral agreement just signed involves the exchange of products and geographical, geological and geospatial data held by the parties.
Director of PGI-NRI at the European Economic Congress
Mineral raw materials were the subject of one of the discussion panels at the European Economic Congress held in Katowice. It was attended by prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Szamałek, Director of the Polish Geological Institute-NRI.
105 years of PGI-NRI
The Polish Geological Institute - National Research Institute is now 105 years old. It is not only the largest scientific research institution in Polish geology, but also the oldest institution of its kind in the country.
