Report on the 8th National Symposium ‘Recent problems of engineering geology in Poland’
On 15-18 October 2024, the 8th Symposium ‘Recent Problems of Engineering Geology in Poland’ (8th WPGI) was held in Łódź, Poland. The event is organised every three years and the theme was the challenges of engineering geology in the face of energy transition, digitalisation and automation.
Distinction in the competition ‘Geology in the lens 2024’ for an employee of PGI-NRI
We are pleased to announce that the photo entitled ‘Pumpjack in reflection’, taken by Mariusz Fiałkiewicz, MSc, from the Centre for Modelling Geological Processes at the Lower Silesian Branch of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) in Wrocław, has been recognised in the ‘Geology in Lens 2024’ (PL – Geologia w obiektywie 2024) competition, organised by the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
PGI-NRI at 13th NECLIME Workshop
The 13th palynological working group workshop organised under NECLIME was held on 23-26 October 2024 at the Władysław Szafer Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków.
PGI-NRI at hydrogen workshops in the Netherlands
Three employees of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute: Marek Jasionowski, Marcin Łojek and Krystian Wójcik participated in the "Hydrogen in the energy transformation" workshop, which was organized by the Chamber of the Natural Gas Industry (IGG) on October 21-23, 2024 as part of a study trip to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
