New data from the Baltic area in CBDG applications
A new large data package from the Baltic Sea has been made available on the Internet. All of them were created over many years in the Department of Marine Geology of the PGI-NRI in Gdańsk. Marine and coastal zone geology data has just been made available as web mapping services and downloads.
Polish-Ukrainian cooperation at the Polesie Cross-border Geological Seminar
The Polesie Cross-border Geological Seminar was held on 12-14 June 2023 in Urszulin (Lubelskie province, Włodawa district). It sums up a grant project of prof. Leszek Marks entitled “Regional reference profiles of Middle Pleistocene within the Polish-Belarusian-Ukrainian borderland”.

The latest edition of “The balance of mineral resources deposits in Poland” (in Polish) is available online. In the publication Polish Geological Institute-National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) presented data on more than 14.7 thousand mineral raw materials deposits documented in Poland as of 31.12.2022.
The Upper Silesia branch of PIG-PIB awarded for merits to the City of Sosnowiec!
The Upper Silesian branch of the Polish Geological Institute - PIB was part of the honourable group of people and institutions awarded on Wednesday, 21 June 2023 by the President of Sosnowiec, Arkadiusz Chęciński and City Council Chairwoman, Ewa Szota, with a badge of Merit for the City of Sosnowiec.
