 The General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) is the largest and the most important science event about the Earth in Europe. This annual conference, held in Vienna from 23-28 April 2023, attracted more than 18,000 scientists from all over the world and was attended by a strong representation of PGI-NRI staff.

Agreement with Mongolia for the exploration of critical raw materials
 The Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) has signed an agreement with the National Geological Survey (NGS) of Mongolia for the project entitled 'Exploration of critical raw materials in Mongolia – identification of molybdenum and tungsten areas'.

Farewell to Professor Grzegorz Pieńkowski
 It was with disbelief and deep sadness that we received the news about the death of Professor Grzegorz Pieńkowski – a long-time employee of the Polish Geological Institute. He died on 19 April 2023 at the age of 69.
