The Polish Geological Institute manages the Central Geological Archives (CGA), the main archive of geological and geo-environmental data as well as rock and soil samples. The CGA supports the work of the Polish Geological Survey and the Polish Hydrogeological Survey.
From the 1st of January 2012, public access to the geological information held by the CGA is regulated by:
- The Act of Geological and Mining Law dated 9th June 2011
- The Ordinance of the Minister of the Environment on gathering and access to geological information
- The Ordinance of the Minister of the Environment on paid use of geological information
Internal rules and application forms for access to geological information within PGI-NRI records (documents, maps and data) are available on the website https://www.pgi.gov.pl/narodowe-archiwum-geologiczne/gromadzenie-i-udostepnianie-informacji-geologicznej.html in Polish only.
More information can be found on the Ministry of Climate and Environment website.
