The first Polish voyage to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge area has ended
A Polish expedition led by the Polish Geological Institute-NRI aimed at regional exploration of deep-sea areas in the North Atlantic has been successful.
Geology will help in the just transition of post-mining areas
Environmental geochemistry, land subsidence monitoring via satellite interferometry, and the use of post-mining waters and coal-bed methane are strong offers from the Polish Geological Institute-NRI to support the energy transition in Silesia.
Launch of Geological Service for Europe (GSEU) project
The inaugural meeting of the Geological Service for Europe (GSEU) project was held in Brussels on September 29-30, 2022. At it, the project's goals and plans, reporting, cost eligibility and other formal aspects under European Union regulations were presented.
PGI-NRI delegates at the „Quo vadis sal” XXVI International Salt Symposium
The „Quo Vadis Sal” XXVI International Salt Symposium was held on 21-25 September 2022 in the main building of the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Qubus Hotel in Kraków. The organiser of the meeting was the Polish Salt Mining Association, which at the same time celebrated the 30th anniversary of its foundation and activities. Eight delegates from PGI-PIB took part in the symposium.
