 As part of preparations for collaboration with the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU), the Polish Geological Institute (PGI) has published their latest 3D geological map of the Malmö and Lund area using the Geo3D web viewer, a platform developed in-house at PGI.

 On 15-18 October 2024, the 8th Symposium ‘Recent Problems of Engineering Geology in Poland’ (8th WPGI) was held in Łódź, Poland. The event is organised every three years and the theme was the challenges of engineering geology in the face of energy transition, digitalisation and automation.

Distinction in the competition ‘Geology in the lens 2024’ for an employee of PGI-NRI
 We are pleased to announce that the photo entitled ‘Pumpjack in reflection’, taken by Mariusz Fiałkiewicz, MSc, from the Centre for Modelling Geological Processes at the Lower Silesian Branch of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) in Wrocław, has been recognised in the ‘Geology in Lens 2024’ (PL – Geologia w obiektywie 2024) competition, organised by the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
