64th anniversary of the discovery of polish copper
It was a real breakthrough. Four drill cores containing chalcocite determined the future of the Lubin region and the development of the Polish mining industry. Thanks to the discovery of Dr. Jan Wyżykowski from the Polish Geological Institute, Poland became a copper power.
Geological maps on the Internet - a Common Platform for Geological Cartography
Based on the initiative by the Chief Geologist of the Country and Polish Geological Institute – NRI (PGI-NRI), the Polish Geological Cartography Platform (WPKG) is being developed as one of the tasks of the Polish Geological Survey (PSG). Its aim is to gather as many available geological maps and other cartographic products connected with geology as possiblein one database, systematize and present them online.
The chronicle of the construction of the Geological Samples Central Warehouse in Leszcze, near Kłodawa
A modern high-bay warehouse with an area of 7500 m², which will be able to store about one million linear meters of geological samples (mainly drill cores), is being constructed in Leszcze, in the Kłodawa municipality.
