Cooperation on mineral resources was the focus of a meeting between PGI-NRI and a delegation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands
On 12 May 2026, the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) hosted a delegation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, representing the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (led by Erwin Nijsse – Deputy Minister and Director-General for Business and Innovation) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Poland. The meeting focused on the Institute’s activities, with particular attention to issues related to critical raw materials and the potential for developing hydrogen resources.
The latest number of the Geological Quarterly journal has been published
The latest issue of the Geological Quarterly (Volume 70, No. 1/2026) contains 11 articles dedicated to various topics in the Earth sciences and related fields. Staff members of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) are the authors or co-authors of four of these publications.

The Lower Silesia Branch of PGI-NRI is cooperating in securing water supplies for the semiconductor industry
On 20 April 2026, the final meeting was held to summarise the year’s work of the expert team appointed to develop a water supply concept for the planned semiconductor industry investment in the Industrial Park Miękinia – Środa Śląska.
