The Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute received funding this year from the National Science Centre (NCN) under the WEAVE-UNISONO competition for a research project entitled "Integration of the stratigraphy of the late Palaeozoic of the eastern equatorial Pangea" in cooperation with the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Charles University in Prague, the Czech Geological Survey, the Institute of Geophysics of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Palacký University in Olomouc.
Ecolaury 2022 award for the "SOPO Landslide Protection System” project
The Polish Geological Institute – PIB received an award in the category "Earth surface protection, revitalisation of degraded areas” In the 21st Edition of the EKOLAURY 2022 Competition of the Polish Chamber of Ecology. The jury appreciated the implementation of a long-term project entitled “SOPO Landslide Protection System”.
EU-Waterres project groundwater monitoring development plans for Polish-Ukrainian cross-border area
Research work related to the task’s implementation of work package No. 3 (abbr. WP3) entitled: "Harmonization of transboundary groundwater monitoring" as part of the international project EU-Waterres "EU-integrated management system of cross-border groundwater resources and anthropogenic hazards" has been completed.
PGI-NRI at EuroGeoSurveys 50th anniversary celebration in Brussels
The Association of European Geological Surveys, the EuroGeoSurveys (EGS) celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021, but due to pandemic reasons its official celebration was not held until October 2022.
